Support the ‘Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act’ (CARA) H.R.953 & S.524

CARA needs your support as it moves forward through the legislative process. On Wednesday, April 29th please join us for a national ‘call-in’ day to express  support for this Bill.  CARA provides funding for educational efforts focused on prevention and treatment of opioid addiction, naloxone OD programs, drug disposal, alternative to incarceration programs, and medication-assisted treatment and calls for an Inter-Agency Task Force to develop best practices for pain management and prescribing pain medication, and a strategy for disseminating such best practices.
We urge you to contact your Senator and Representative and ask them to co-sponsor and support CARA.
In addition to expressing support for CARA, we encourage you to also express concern that individuals with ties to opioid manufacturers and ties to industry-funded pain organizations should be excluded from serving on the Task Force.
